The Alienware AW3425DWM deal on Amazon has pushed the 34-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor down to $299.99 as of July 28, according to Mashable.

That price is $50 under the monitor’s current $349.99 list price, Mashable reported. The deal also puts it within $30 of its lowest price ever, according to price tracker CamelCamelCamel.

The Alienware 34-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor originally carried a $399.99 retail price before receiving what Mashable described as a permanent cut to $349.99. Amazon’s current discount takes another $50 off that newer list price.

Is the Alienware AW3425DWM deal worth it?

For shoppers looking for a curved ultrawide gaming monitor under $300, the deal stands out because it pairs a 34-inch screen with gaming-focused specs including a 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, according to Mashable.

The monitor uses a VA panel. PCMag has explained that VA panels can show smearing and motion-handling issues in some gaming situations, but Mashable noted they can also deliver deeper blacks and stronger contrast than IPS panels.

Mashable also pointed out one practical trade-off versus OLED: buyers do not have to worry about OLED-style burn-in. Burn-in is the permanent image retention risk that can affect OLED screens when static elements remain visible for long periods.

The AW3425DWM has a 1500R curved panel, according to Mashable. That curve is designed to wrap the display around the viewer more than a flat panel, though Mashable said the steep curve may take some getting used to.

Reddit users discussing the model have had mostly positive things to say about it, Mashable reported. The same report said commenters have also described it as useful beyond gaming, including for productivity and web browsing.

What specs does the Alienware AW3425DWM include?

Mashable listed several features on the Alienware AW3425DWM, including WQHD resolution, AMD FreeSync Premium, VESA Adaptive Sync Technology and VESA DisplayHDR 400.

  • 34-inch curved ultrawide display
  • 1500R curve
  • VA panel
  • 180Hz refresh rate
  • 1ms response time
  • AMD FreeSync Premium
  • VESA Adaptive Sync Technology
  • VESA DisplayHDR 400
  • WQHD resolution
  • Adjustable base and smaller-footprint design

Mashable also said the monitor includes plenty of ports, though the report did not list each connection type.

The big number for deal hunters is still the price: $299.99 at Amazon as of July 28. For an Alienware-branded 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor, Mashable framed the current sale as a notable discount in a category where prices can climb quickly.
