Ty Dolla $ign stepped into Ariana Grande’s elaborate stage house at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday night, giving the third show of her five-night run a jolt, according to Rolling Stone.

The guest spot came during “Safety Net,” the Ty Dolla $ign collaboration from Grande’s 2020 album Positions. Rolling Stone reported that the song sits in Act III of the Eternal Sunshine Tour set list.

According to the outlet, Ty entered through the door of Grande’s stage set as the crowd cheered. He wore a leather jacket and pants for the duet, Rolling Stone reported.

After the performance, Ty addressed the audience and praised Grande, saying, “The queen, Ari. Love you, thank you!” according to Rolling Stone.

A duet from the Positions era

“Safety Net” appeared on Grande’s sixth studio album, Positions, which was released in October 2020, Rolling Stone noted. The track entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 52 after the album came out, according to the outlet.

The moment also got a social-media afterglow. Rolling Stone reported that Ty later posted an Instagram Stories screenshot showing Grande being lifted into the air during her finale performance of “Supernatural,” a song from Eternal Sunshine.

His caption read, “to be continued…..” according to Rolling Stone, hinting at another possible linkup with Grande without giving details.

An Instagram Reel shared by Grande’s team account also marked the appearance, tagging Ty Dolla $ign and thanking him. The embedded post shown by Rolling Stone listed more than 430,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments.

Brooklyn run heads toward its finale

Grande’s Barclays Center residency is scheduled for five shows, according to Rolling Stone. Thursday’s concert was the third night of that run.

The singer is set to return to the Brooklyn arena on July 18 and July 19 before taking the tour to Boston, where Rolling Stone reported she has a three-night stand booked at TD Garden.

The Eternal Sunshine Tour began last month in Oakland, Rolling Stone reported. The tour supports Grande’s seventh studio album, also titled Eternal Sunshine.

Rolling Stone described the trek as Grande’s first headlining concert run since 2019. The outlet reported that the set list has focused mostly on Eternal Sunshine, while still making room for earlier material.

Those older cuts include three songs from Positions, plus two songs each from Dangerous Woman, My Everything and thank u, next, according to Rolling Stone.
