Best Buy is taking up to $20 off DoorDash e-gift cards, giving takeout fans a small but direct way to trim the bill before fees and delivery charges start piling on.
According to Mashable, the retailer had DoorDash digital gift cards on sale as of July 17 in three denominations: $50, $100 and $200. The discount scales with the card value, with shoppers paying $45, $90 or $180 respectively.
That means the biggest card gives buyers $200 in DoorDash credit for $180, while the smaller options knock $5 or $10 off the checkout price. The cards are electronic, so Best Buy sends them by email rather than mailing a physical card, Mashable reported.

Once the e-gift card arrives, buyers can use the activation code in their DoorDash account and apply the balance to future orders, according to Mashable. The deal is for DoorDash credit, so the final cost of any food order will still depend on the restaurant, taxes and any delivery or service fees charged through the platform.
Mashable noted that delivery can get pricey once those extra charges are added, pointing out that a $15 meal can climb sharply after fees. A discounted gift card does not remove those charges, but it does lower the amount paid for the DoorDash balance itself.
The promotion may appeal to people who already use DoorDash and want to stock up on credit, or to anyone buying a digital gift for someone who orders delivery. Since the cards are delivered by email, the offer also avoids shipping time.
Mashable also highlighted another food deal for Friday: a Krispy Kreme buy-one-get-one offer tied to the doughnut chain’s 89th birthday. No further details about that promotion were included in the DoorDash deal report.
As with any limited retail offer, shoppers should check Best Buy’s current listing before buying to confirm that the discounted pricing is still available and that the selected denomination is in stock.
