A Brooklyn street briefly became foosball country when Teremana Tequila set up a 525-foot table and invited dozens of players to put it through its paces.
UPI reported that the New York tequila company staged the oversized game as part of a celebration tied to the FIFA World Cup. The table stretched roughly the same distance as 112 standard foosball tables lined up end to end, according to the report.
Guinness World Records had an adjudicator at the July 11 test run in Brooklyn, where the organization confirmed the build as the world’s longest foosball table.
Michael Empric, the Guinness World Records adjudicator at the event, said the attempt held up despite the heat.
“The event went smoothly, despite the warm temperatures,” Empric said, according to UPI. “The foosball table was very impressive in person, as it spanned more than a city block!”
A record by more than 27 feet
The Brooklyn setup beat the previous mark, which Guinness World Records said was set in Turkey in 2023. That earlier table measured 497 feet and 8.4 inches.
Teremana’s version added more than 27 feet to the record, giving the company the title after Guinness reviewed the attempt on site.
The stunt was built for a crowd, with UPI reporting that dozens of people gathered to play on the extra-long table. The game worked the same familiar way as regular foosball, just stretched to a length more commonly associated with a city block than a barroom match.
What happens to the table next
The record-holder will not stay in one piece. Teremana officials said the long table will be broken down into standard-sized foosball tables.
Those tables will then be donated to recreation centers around the United States, according to the company officials cited by UPI.
That gives the one-day Brooklyn spectacle a second life after the Guinness certificate: a 525-foot promotional build becoming a batch of regular tables for players elsewhere.
Guinness World Records also shared video from the event on Facebook, showing the sprawling table in action as players lined up along the sides.
