The DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo is down to $989 at Amazon as of July 18, according to Mashable, putting the drone bundle under $1,000 for the first time the outlet says it has seen.
The Amazon listing cited by Mashable shows a previous price of $1,599, meaning the current offer cuts $610 from the bundle. Mashable also pointed to Camelcamelcamel price tracking for the claim that this package has not previously fallen below the $1,000 mark.
The deal is aimed at shoppers looking for a ready-to-fly setup rather than just the drone alone. Mashable calls the Fly More Combo a beginner-friendly bundle and says it gives buyers what they need to start flying and filming content out of the box.
Why DJI deals are getting extra attention
Mashable says it is watching DJI drone prices closely because the brand remains popular with content creators and because restrictions on DJI products in the U.S. could affect availability.
According to Mashable, the new rules apply to future imports. Drones already sitting with retailers such as Amazon can still be purchased and used, the outlet reports.
Mashable’s reading of the situation is that prices may rise once existing stock becomes harder to find. For now, the outlet says record-low pricing is still appearing on top DJI models, including the Mini 5 Pro.
What the Mini 5 Pro offers
Mashable describes the DJI Mini 5 Pro as an ultra-light, palm-sized foldable drone. The model includes 42GB of internal storage, according to the outlet.
For video, Mashable says the drone has a 1-inch CMOS sensor capable of recording 4K/60fps HDR footage. It also has a 225-degree flexible gimbal, which the outlet says supports vertical shots and video captured from multiple angles.
The drone’s safety and tracking features are part of the pitch, too. Mashable says the Mini 5 Pro includes nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward-facing LiDAR to help detect obstacles.
The model also comes with an upgraded ActiveTrack 360-degree feature, according to Mashable, designed to keep subjects in frame while shooting.
Deal pricing can move quickly at Amazon, and Mashable’s price check was current as of July 18. At that point, the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo was listed for $989.
