Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has stretched its run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 to 15 weeks, according to Billboard, giving the Alabama country singer a chart milestone that now puts her beside Harry Styles.
Rolling Stone reported, citing Billboard’s latest chart data, that the single has moved past Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” for the longest No. 1 run by a woman with a non-holiday song. The track is now level with Styles’ “As It Was,” which also spent 15 weeks at No. 1.

Langley has held the Hot 100’s top spot for 15 weeks with “Choosin’ Texas,” Billboard reported. A No. 1 week means the song led Billboard’s weekly Hot 100 chart for that frame.
The run puts Langley within striking distance of more long-running No. 1s. Rolling Stone noted that Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” sits at 16 weeks, while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” logged 19 weeks.
The biggest number still mentioned in the current chart conversation belongs to Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has 22 weeks at No. 1. Rolling Stone pointed out that the holiday standard could re-enter the race later in the year, with roughly 14 weeks to go before Carey’s Christmas-season rollout traditionally becomes part of the pop calendar again.
For now, Langley’s summer is still cooking. Rolling Stone has already called “Choosin’ Texas” its song of the summer, and the single’s chart streak backs up how hard it has landed with listeners.

The nearest competition is Taylor Swift, whose “I Knew It, I Knew You” is at No. 2, according to Rolling Stone’s summary of the chart. Stella Lefty’s “Boston” is at No. 3 after climbing from No. 6.
That leaves Langley defending the top spot against two fast-moving records while her own single keeps adding weeks to a run that has already rewritten part of the Hot 100 record book for women artists.
Langley is also on the road. Her Dandelion Tour is scheduled to stop at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, on July 30, Rolling Stone reported. The outlet has also reported that the tour has been giving prominent stage time to other women artists.
If “Choosin’ Texas” holds on for another week, it would match Wallen’s 16-week mark with “Last Night.” A longer stay would put Langley closer to Lil Nas X’s 19-week benchmark and, if the run keeps rolling, Carey’s 22-week holiday total.
