Faith No More reunion 2027 sets stadium dates with System of a Down
Faith No More will return in January 2027 for Australia and New Zealand stadium shows with System of a Down after years offstage.

The Faith No More reunion 2027 fans have been waiting for is on the books: the band announced on Instagram that it will play stadium shows in Australia and New Zealand with System of a Down early next year.
Faith No More’s post kept it brisk, telling followers, “It’s been a minute,” and saying the band would join its “friends” System of a Down for a January and February 2027 run.
When are Faith No More reunion shows in 2027?
The announced dates begin Jan. 22 in Sydney, followed by Jan. 27 in Melbourne and Feb. 1 in Brisbane. The run is scheduled to finish Feb. 7 in Wellington, New Zealand.
The shows mark Faith No More’s first performances since August 2016, according to Rolling Stone. Those 2016 gigs featured original singer Chuck Mosley and were tied to a reissue of the band’s debut album, We Care a Lot. Mosley died in 2017.
For fans of the band’s longtime frontman Mike Patton, the wait has been even longer. Rolling Stone reported that Faith No More last performed with Patton in 2015 while touring behind Sol Invictus, the group’s first album since 1997.
Why has Faith No More been away so long?
Faith No More had planned to return to touring in 2020, but those dates were postponed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Some concerts were moved to 2021, then later canceled, with Patton citing “mental health reasons,” according to Rolling Stone.
Patton later told Rolling Stone he had been diagnosed with agoraphobia, which is an anxiety disorder involving intense fear or avoidance of places or situations that can feel difficult to escape. He also said the diagnosis led to other issues he did not want to discuss publicly.
“Somehow my confidence was broken down,” Patton told Rolling Stone. He said he did not want to be in front of people, a difficult turn for someone who had spent much of his life performing.
Patton eventually returned to public performance through other work, including Dead Cross, Mr. Bungle and a collaborative album with the Avett Brothers, Rolling Stone reported. Faith No More, however, remained inactive onstage.
The status of the band had looked uncertain. In 2022, Patton described the situation to Rolling Stone as “a little confusing and complicated.” In 2025, drummer Mike Bordin claimed Patton had gone from being unable to perform with Faith No More to being “unwilling to do shows with us,” according to Blabbermouth.
The 2027 hints started before the official date announcement. Rolling Stone reported that the band returned to Instagram in June with an image of fans, the Faith No More logo and a large “2027.” Now the calendar has caught up with the tease.
