The Fred Again Latin Mafia mixtape is being made in public: Rolling Stone reports that Fred Again.. and the Mexican trio Latin Mafia began livestreaming their studio work on YouTube on July 28 as they finish the project in Mexico City.
According to Rolling Stone, the sessions also include Benjy Gibson, Fred Again..’s brother and frequent collaborator. The stream is planned to run for three days and, per the report, is not set to stop until the group has finished recording the mixtape.
What is the Fred Again Latin Mafia mixtape livestream?
It is a YouTube livestream showing Fred Again.., Latin Mafia and Benjy Gibson working in a studio on their joint mixtape. Rolling Stone described it as a three-day broadcast of the creative process, rather than a standard release rollout or polished performance clip.
Latin Mafia are brothers Milton, Emilio and Mike de la Rosa. Speaking to Rolling Stone before the livestream, Milton called Fred Again.. one of the most impressive musical minds the group has encountered, while Emilio said Fred and Benjy had become close friends of the trio.
The connection between the acts traces back to Fred Again..’s support for Latin Mafia’s 2024 debut album, Todos Los Días Todo El Día, Rolling Stone reported. After that, the trio spent time with Fred at his home in London, where they also worked on music with Benjy Gibson.
Fred Again.. has also praised the group publicly. In an Instagram post cited by Rolling Stone, he wrote that Latin Mafia were making some of his favorite music and described their work as beautiful, surprising, contained and adventurous.
How did Fred Again.. and Latin Mafia preview the project?
The collaboration had a public tease before the livestream. Rolling Stone reports that Latin Mafia joined Fred Again.. in December for the final date of his USB002 Tour in Mexico City.
Before that concert, they recorded an audiovisual performance titled Under the Fabric (Mexico City, 11th December 2025). Rolling Stone described the short film as a preview of the coming mixtape. After a one-day premiere at Cine Tonalá in Mexico City, the film became available on YouTube.
The ending of Under the Fabric displayed the date July 28, according to Rolling Stone. That date turned out to point to the Mexico City studio meetup now being streamed online.
Mike de la Rosa told Rolling Stone that working with Fred and Benjy is fun but also demanding because of their pace. He said the brothers enjoy the challenge of trying to match that level in the studio.
The mixtape arrives during a busy run for Latin Mafia. Rolling Stone noted the trio’s recent link with Rosalía and collaborations involving Kevin Abstract, Dominic Fike, Álvaro Diaz, Tainy and Yandel.
