Gracie Abrams is back with album three, and this one arrives with a title built for a spiral: Daughter From Hell.

Rolling Stone reported that the singer-songwriter has released the 16-track project as the follow-up to The Secret of Us (Deluxe), which came after the original The Secret of Us in 2024.

Abrams spoke about the record Tuesday during an exclusive Bowery Ballroom underplay show, according to Rolling Stone. She said the album came out of a quieter stretch after touring ended and people had gone separate ways.

“Being in your 20s is so strange and weird, it can feel lonely in a new way and it can feel like thrilling in a new way,” Abrams said at the show, according to Rolling Stone. “You imagine your future differently all of a sudden and then your adolescence still feels like it’s like right behind.”

Aaron Dessner returns behind the boards

Rolling Stone reported that Aaron Dessner of the National produced Daughter From Hell. Dessner also produced Abrams’ first two albums, Good Riddance and The Secret of Us.

The credits list brings a familiar crew into the room. Rolling Stone reported that Justin Vernon, also known as Bon Iver, has a writing credit, along with Abrams’ longtime friend Audrey Hobert and Abrams’ partner Paul Mescal, who co-wrote “Imaginary Friend.”

Marcus Mumford is also credited as a featured artist on “What If It’s Right?” according to the Spotify album listing included with Rolling Stone’s report.

Before the album landed, Abrams had already rolled out two singles from it. Rolling Stone reported that “Hit the Wall” and “Look at My Life” were released after she announced the album in May, describing both as upbeat songs about crashing out. The outlet also reported that “Look at My Life” quickly became a fan favorite.

A tour is coming next

Abrams is also taking the new era on the road. Rolling Stone reported that the Look at My Life Tour is set to begin Dec. 2 in Denver, Colorado.

After the tour announcement, Abrams posted her excitement on social media, according to Rolling Stone. “We’re baaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” she wrote. “I HAVE MISSED YOU AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!”

With Daughter From Hell, Abrams adds another Dessner-produced chapter to a catalog that has moved fast since Good Riddance. The record is out now on Spotify, according to the platform listing cited by Rolling Stone.
