Karol G Tropitour set list starts with a Soldier Field spectacle

Karol G’s Tropitour set list arrived with stadium-scale flair Friday as the Colombian star began her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour with the first of two sold-out shows at Chicago’s Soldier Field, according to Rolling Stone.

Jessi Roti reported for Rolling Stone that the concert ran just under two and a half hours after an opening set from Elena Rose. The production featured more than 20 dancers, fireworks, pyro and a giant guacamaya, with Karol G performing atop the bird during the show.

The tour is billed as Karol G’s biggest headlining run yet. Rolling Stone reported that the trek is set to visit 63 stadiums across North America, Latin America and Europe through mid-2027.

Karol G opened with “Latina Foreva,” then moved through songs including “Un gatito me llamo,” “Oki Doki,” “Ta Ok,” “QLONA,” “El Makinon,” “S91,” “Tropicoqueta” and “Papasito,” according to the set list published by Rolling Stone.

The show also included “Ese hombre es Malo,” “200 Copas,” “Mamiii,” “Ivonny bonita,” “Pineapple,” “Gatubela,” “Amargura,” “Tu perfume,” “Dile Luna,” “Bandida Entrenada,” “Ojos Ferrari,” “TQG,” “Bichota,” “Tusa,” “Milagros,” “Coleccionando Heridas,” “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and “Viajando Por El Mundo.”

Rolling Stone reported that “Bichota” and “Tusa” were performed in salsa versions, while “Gatubela” included an interpolation of “Rompe.” The night ended with the live debut of Karol G’s new single, “Matadora.”

Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour is Karol G’s latest headlining stadium tour, built around a large theatrical production with a Colombian mountainside and rainforest-inspired stage, according to Rolling Stone. The show was arranged in four acts and followed a story of rebirth, self-discovery, ancestry and connection to the land.

Rolling Stone described the Soldier Field crowd as a wide-ranging Latin American diaspora audience dressed in bright colors, floral prints, high heels, country flags worn as skirts and recreations of Karol G’s feathered sunglasses by Chrishabana.

The second act opened with a pre-recorded appearance by Mexican-American actor Edward James Olmos, Rolling Stone reported. During that segment, Olmos and Karol G spoke about family, friends, work, ritual and joy.

An all-female mariachi group later joined the concert for a run that included the traditional songs “Negrita de Mis Pesares” and “El son de la negra,” along with Karol G tracks such as “Ese Hombre Es Malo,” “Mamiii” and “200 Copas.” Rolling Stone also reported that Karol G promised a couple in the audience tickets to another concert in Paris for their honeymoon.

There was one bumpy moment, according to Rolling Stone, when a quiet transition briefly made some fans wonder whether the power had gone out. The pause gave way to live percussion, horns and wood flutes as the band played cumbias and porros.

Near the end, Karol G appeared in a bejeweled orchid look and thanked the crowd. Rolling Stone reported that she told the audience in Spanish, “Being Latino is the coolest thing in the world,” before closing with “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and “Viajando Por El Mundo” as dancers carried kites and flags representing countries across the Americas.
