Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide adds heat and vibration to recovery slides

Nike and Hyperice are putting recovery tech underfoot with the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, a new slide that pairs Nike cushioning with removable pods that heat and vibrate on demand.
The recovery shoe launches Sept. 29 through Nike and Hyperice online stores and select retailers globally, according to the companies. Pricing has not been announced.
The product is built around Nike’s Air Zoom cushioning and Hyperice’s Venom Go technology, packaged in detachable magnetic pods that sit inside the slide’s adjustable strap. Those pods are designed to deliver heat and vibration to the top of the foot during 15-minute sessions.
What is the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide?
The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide is a wearable recovery slide meant for use after workouts, travel or long stretches on your feet. It is the second product from the Nike and Hyperice partnership, following the Hyperboot, which was designed for pre-performance warmups.
Each slide uses a removable Hyperslide Pod, attached magnetically, to provide targeted heat and vibration. The product has three heat settings, with the top setting reaching 117 degrees Fahrenheit, and three vibration settings.
Battery life is listed at one hour, according to the product details. The slide is also described as TSA-friendly, making it a travel-ready recovery option for athletes or frequent flyers.
How the heat and vibration pods work
The detachable pod is the main trick here. Instead of building recovery tech permanently into the slide, Nike and Hyperice place it in a removable unit tucked into the strap, so the pod can be taken out when needed.
The recovery cycle lasts 15 minutes. During that window, users can choose from the available heat and vibration levels to target the upper foot while the Nike cushioning handles the underfoot feel.
Nike says the design was informed by feedback from both elite and everyday athletes. Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is among the athletes cited in the launch material, saying the Hyperice heat and vibration help his feet recover quickly while the Nike Air Zoom cushioning makes the slide comfortable.
Tobie Hatfield, Nike’s senior director of athlete innovation, said the aim was to create a slide that starts the recovery process as soon as it is powered on.
The Air Zoom Hyperslide enters a crowded recovery market where massage guns, compression boots and heated devices have moved from training rooms into gym bags and carry-ons. Nike and Hyperice are betting that the next place for that tech is the humble post-workout slide.
The companies have said the Air Zoom Hyperslide will be available in select markets from Sept. 29 at Nike, Hyperice and select retail locations globally. Shoppers will have to wait for the price tag.
