Omni Summer Music Series brings Darius Rucker, Luke Grimes to resorts

Omni Summer Music Series has put resort concerts at the center of the hotel group’s summer push, with Darius Rucker drawing a sold-out July 4 crowd in Texas and Luke Grimes lined up for a California performance over Labor Day weekend.
Rucker performed at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa in Frisco, Texas, during the property’s Fireworks on the Fairway Independence Day event, according to Rolling Stone. The outlet reported that 7,000 people attended this year’s celebration, up from 6,000 last year.
The three-time Grammy winner’s set included solo material, Hootie & the Blowfish songs and covers, Rolling Stone reported. The concert included “Wagon Wheel,” TLC’s “Waterfalls,” Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison,” “Valerie,” “Band on the Run” and “God Bless the USA.”
After Rucker’s final song, the event shifted from stage to sky. Rolling Stone reported that a drone show was followed by a fireworks finale above the fairway.
Who is playing the Omni Summer Music Series?
Omni’s Summer Festival & Music Series includes Darius Rucker, John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Clay Walker and Luke Grimes, according to Rolling Stone. Rzeznik and Walker performed earlier in the summer, while Grimes is scheduled to play Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, in September.
Rolling Stone reported that Grimes’ show is planned for Labor Day weekend as an outdoor performance for hotel guests and club members.
The series is tied to Omni Hotels & Resorts’ year-long Celebrate America campaign, which the company is running across more than 50 properties to mark America’s 250th birthday, according to Rolling Stone.
Michael Innocentin, chief marketing officer at Omni Hotels & Resorts, told Rolling Stone that the Summer Festival & Music Series is a “cornerstone” of the campaign and reflects Omni’s American roots of more than 65 years. He said Rucker was a fitting artist for the July 4 event because his music is connected to many summer memories.
What is Fireworks on the Fairway?
Fireworks on the Fairway is Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa’s annual Independence Day celebration, according to Rolling Stone. This year’s event combined a live concert, a drone show and fireworks at the resort north of Dallas.
Rolling Stone described the weekend programming at the resort as family-focused, with vodka tastings for adults and activities for children including soccer stations, an ice cream cart and caricature artists. The outlet also reported that guests gathered around card games near the bar during the festivities.
Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa is about 30 miles north of Dallas, according to Rolling Stone. The three-year-old resort is built around pools, golf and the 18-hole Fields Ranch East course.
Golf remains a major piece of the property’s profile. Rolling Stone reported that Fields Ranch East is scheduled to host the PGA Championship in 2027, bringing one of the sport’s marquee events to North Texas.
In a press release cited by Rolling Stone, Omni said the music series is one way its properties are honoring travel, shared history and togetherness across the brand.
