The Peloton Tread has taken a $400 cut at Amazon, with Mashable reporting the treadmill is listed for $2,895 instead of its $3,295 list price.

The deal, reported as live on July 20, works out to a 12% discount. For anyone trying to keep a running routine alive through summer heat, pop-up storms or smoky air, the pitch is straightforward: move the miles indoors.

Mashable framed the discount around the rougher side of warm-weather training, noting that heat, sudden thunderstorms and occasional wildfire smoke can make outdoor workouts harder to plan. The discounted model is the Peloton Tread, the company’s connected treadmill.

What the Peloton Tread includes

According to Mashable’s deal report, the Tread has a 21.5-inch HD screen that swivels, front-facing speakers and a 59-inch-long running belt. The report describes it as a high-end machine in the same family as the Peloton Bike.

The treadmill also includes speed and incline knobs placed for mid-workout changes, Mashable reported. A jump button can raise the speed setting by one and the incline by one percentage point, according to the report.

Speed can be set from 1 to 12.5 miles per hour, with adjustments available in 0.1-mile-per-hour increments, Mashable said. That gives users more control over pace changes during runs, walks or interval sessions.

The Tread is designed for users who weigh 300 pounds or less, according to the report. Mashable also noted that the treadmill includes a USB-C charging port, so a phone can be powered while a workout is underway.

The price cut

The key number is the $400 savings. Mashable reported that Amazon’s sale price is $2,895, down from $3,295, and labeled the reduction as a 12% discount.

As with any retail deal, pricing can change after publication. Mashable’s report says the Amazon offer was active as of July 20.

For shoppers already considering a Peloton setup, the sale puts the Tread below its listed price while keeping the feature set called out in the report: the swivel HD screen, front-facing audio, long belt, physical controls and phone charging port.
