Pokémon TCG Pitch Black box hits new low at Amazon
Amazon is listing the 36-pack Mega Evolution Pitch Black Booster Display Box at $235.48 including shipping, below its $279.99 list price.

The Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Pitch Black Booster Display Box has already taken a price cut at Amazon, with the 36-pack box listed at $235.48 as of July 17.
Amazon’s listing shows a $229.99 base price plus $5.49 for shipping, bringing the total to $235.48 before tax. The box has a listed price of $279.99, making the current Amazon price a $44.51 discount.
Price tracker camelcamelcamel lists the Amazon offer as the lowest price it has tracked for the product. The deal puts the box at roughly $6.54 per booster pack before tax.
That per-pack figure is lower than a preorder offer cited earlier this week by Mashable, which came out to about $7.08 per pack.
Other retailers are undercutting Amazon
Amazon has the tracked low for its own listing, but it is not the cheapest place named in current retailer comparisons.
Walmart lists the Pitch Black Booster Display Box at $228.95 with free shipping, according to the retailer listing cited by Mashable. That Walmart offer is sold by Realgoodeal and fulfilled by Walmart.
TCGplayer has cheaper unopened listings still, starting at $189.99 plus $3.59 shipping, according to Mashable. The same report says that price sits below the box’s $209.79 market price on TCGplayer.
What comes in the box
The Pitch Black Booster Display Box includes 36 sealed booster packs. Each booster contains 10 random trading cards from a set of more than 115 cards.
The expansion includes more than 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations, according to the product details cited by Mashable. Mega Darkrai ex leads the expansion.
Collectors chasing high-value pulls may be watching the set closely. Mashable named SIR Mega Darkrai ex, MHR Mega Darkrai ex, SIR Morpeko ex, and SIR Mega Zeraora ex among the chase cards available in the expansion.
Those cards can also be bought individually on TCGplayer, according to Mashable. The same report says some of the named chase cards carry market prices reaching just under $400.
As with any trading card deal, final cost depends on shipping, tax, seller, and stock at the time of purchase. The Amazon price cited here was available as of July 17.
