The Samsung Odyssey G7 Amazon deal has knocked the 40-inch G75F curved gaming monitor down to $649.99 as of July 27, according to the Amazon listing, taking $350 off its $999.99 list price.

That works out to a 35% discount on the ultrawide display. The product page lists the monitor as sold and shipped by Amazon, with free delivery shown for Aug. 1 at the time of writing, or July 28 for Prime members. Amazon also lists free 30-day returns.

Is the Samsung Odyssey G7 Amazon deal worth it?

For players looking for a wide, curved screen rather than a standard 16:9 monitor, the discount puts a 40-inch Samsung gaming display well below its listed price. The main draw is the screen spec: a VA panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 5,120 x 2,160 WUHD resolution and a 1,000R curve, according to the listing.

WUHD, in this case, refers to the 5,120 x 2,160 resolution, which gives the monitor a wider view than a regular 16:9 screen while preserving the vertical detail associated with a 4K display. That extra width is aimed at games where field of view and immersion matter, while the curve is designed to wrap more of the image around the player’s line of sight.

The listing also highlights a 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms GtG response time. Those specs are aimed at fast-paced games where quick movement and responsive visuals matter, including shooters and multiplayer titles.

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is included, according to the product details, to help reduce screen tearing, stuttering and frame interruptions when used with a compatible GPU. That feature is meant to keep the monitor’s refresh behavior better matched with the graphics card during scenes with a lot happening on screen.

Samsung’s display also lists VESA DisplayHDR 600 support. That certification is designed around brighter highlights, stronger blacks and better visibility in darker parts of an image. The monitor’s VA panel is listed with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, which is pitched at giving games and video more depth than a basic office display.

What else does the Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F do?

The Odyssey G7 is not only pitched at gaming. Its Picture-by-Picture feature can show two sources next to each other on the same screen, while Picture-in-Picture can keep a smaller source visible over the main display.

The monitor also includes Auto Source Switch+, according to the listing. That feature is designed to detect when a newly connected device turns on and switch to it without making the user manually dig through input settings.

The deal applies to the Samsung 40-inch Odyssey G7 G75F at Amazon. As with any retailer promotion, the price, delivery date and stock status can change after the listing is updated.
