KPop Demon Hunters co-writers Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan are developing A Really Bad Person for FX, a crime drama with comic elements built around an American visitor to London taking on another family’s identity.
Deadline reported that the pair are writing the development-stage project, their first television series-development effort together. FX Productions and Legendary are behind the show, with Deadline referring to the latter as Legendary Entertainment and reporting carried by Yahoo identifying Legendary Television.

According to the premise reported by Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, the central character is an American woman in London who claims to be the missing daughter of a British family. Her reported aim is to secure citizenship, start again and leave behind a complicated past.

Who is making the FX project?
Jimenez and McMechan are executive producing alongside Brett Baer, Dave Finkel and Sharon Hall, according to the trade reports. Deadline said Baer and Finkel are set to supervise the project, while The Hollywood Reporter’s report said Jimenez and McMechan will executive produce the pilot.
The new show moves the writing partners into television development after their work on Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, which they co-wrote with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, according to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.
Deadline also reported that Jimenez and McMechan have been tapped to write a remake of 50 Foot Woman, a film project in development with Tim Burton, Warner Bros. and LuckyChap. The Hollywood Reporter separately reported that the pair wrote the horror comedy Youth Juice and signed on for the screenplay to Burton’s Attack of the 50-Foot Woman remake.
