Reacher star Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, have announced their separation after 20 years together. In a joint Instagram statement reported by TMZ and Page Six, the couple said they had chosen to end their marriage.

“After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” their statement said.

The couple said their three sons will remain at the center of their lives. They described their next step as a commitment to co-parenting, saying they want to offer their children friendship, grace and the strongest partnership they can as parents.

What did Alan and Catherine Ritchson say about their separation?

Alan and Catherine Ritchson said they built a life and family together and that their years as a couple, along with the love and respect they share, will retain their meaning. They also said they wanted space to grow into the people they are becoming.

The announcement did not give a reason for the end of the marriage. The pair asked for privacy, particularly for their children.

The joint message keeps the focus on their family: an end to their marriage, and an intention to continue raising their boys together.
