Connor Burns Gallus special gets Gorilla Comedy+ launch date

Connor Burns Gallus is officially headed to streaming, with Deadline reporting that the Scottish stand-up’s new hour will premiere exclusively on Gorilla Comedy+ on Aug. 3.
The special will get a wider digital release a month later, arriving on YouTube and Prime Video on Sept. 1, according to Deadline. The rollout reunites Burns with 800 Pound Gorilla after the company previously released his first special, Vertigo.
Deadline reported that no details have been shared about the material Burns covers in Gallus. The title comes from Scots dialect and means “bold, daring and reckless,” a neat little warning label for a comic making his second hour.
When is Connor Burns Gallus streaming?
Gallus begins streaming on Gorilla Comedy+ on Aug. 3, Deadline reported. Viewers who do not catch it there will be able to watch it on YouTube and Prime Video starting Sept. 1.
Burns filmed the special earlier this year at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow, according to Deadline. The show is his fourth solo tour and has already done damage at the box office before reaching screens.
Deadline reported that Gallus broke Glasgow Comedy Festival box office records and sold out across extensive UK and Australian tours. The run also included a sold-out New York engagement Off-Broadway and earned Burns a Forth Fringe Award.
What is Gallus?
Gallus is both the name of Burns’ new special and a Scots word meaning “bold, daring and reckless,” according to Deadline. In this case, it also marks the comedian’s second recorded hour after Vertigo.
Burns’ profile rose with Vertigo, his debut solo show. Deadline reported that it sold more than 10,000 tickets at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before the tour officially went on sale.
That tour went on to cover 40 dates across the UK, and Burns added eight more shows because of demand, according to Deadline. The momentum now carries into Gallus, which arrives with a festival record, international sellouts and an Off-Broadway run already behind it.
Burns is also scheduled to tour this fall with a new show called Flow, Deadline reported. He is represented worldwide by Marlene Zwickler of Marlene Zwickler & Associates.
