Demi Lovato is heading back to Camp Rock. Disney has confirmed the Demi Lovato Camp Rock 3 cameo, with Lovato reprising Mitchie Torres in the new movie while also serving as an executive producer.
The confirmation, announced by Disney on Aug. 10, ends the teaser-driven guessing that had surrounded Mitchie’s place in the third film. Earlier coverage had treated a possible appearance as speculation after a trailer prompted fans to examine a brief image.
Lovato is returning alongside the Jonas Brothers: Joe Jonas as Shane Gray, Nick Jonas as Nate Gray and Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray. Maria Canals-Barrera also returns as Connie, according to Disney’s cast announcement.
When does Camp Rock 3 premiere?
Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney Channel on Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT. It arrives on Disney+ the following day, Disney said.
The story begins after Connect 3 loses the opening act for its major reunion tour. The band goes back to Camp Rock looking for a replacement, and the campers compete for the chance to take the slot. Disney’s synopsis says the contest raises tensions and tests friendships, with unexpected alliances, revelations and romances following.
The new cast includes Liamani Segura as Sage, Malachi Barton as Fletch, Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Sherry Cola as Lark, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.
Veronica Rodriguez directed the film from a script by Eydie Faye. Disney Kids & Family produced it, while Jamal Sims handled choreography. Disney lists Tim Federle, the three Jonas Brothers, Lovato, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh as executive producers.
The original Camp Rock premiered in 2008, followed by Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. Disney says the first two movies were the top cable movie premieres in their respective release years and had logged more than 535 million viewing hours across linear television and streaming through June 28, 2026.
For viewers keeping score, Lovato’s involvement now runs on both sides of the camera: Mitchie Torres is back on screen, and Lovato is also part of the production team behind the franchise return.
