Jessie and D’Lila Combs are standing by their father as Sean “Diddy” Combs remains behind bars following his federal trial.
The 19-year-old twins told Entertainment Tonight that they speak with Combs often and described him as an “amazing” father. They also said he is “focused on becoming a better man for his family,” according to the outlet.
Combs is currently incarcerated after being convicted on two prostitution-related charges in a federal case that also included racketeering and sex trafficking allegations, TMZ reported. He is seeking to overturn the conviction through an appeal, according to the report.
The sisters’ comments put family at the center of a public chapter that has been dominated by court proceedings and damaging video evidence involving Combs’ former girlfriend, Cassie.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Combs apologized to Jessie and D’Lila after security footage involving Cassie became public. TMZ reported the video first surfaced through CNN and that a fuller version was later played in court by the Department of Justice.
The twins did not only discuss their father’s legal problems. They are also stepping into their own spotlight with the debut “777 Collection” from their fashion brand, 12TWINTY1.
Jessie and D’Lila told Entertainment Tonight they have no “fear” about taking on a higher-profile public role as designers. They said Combs has backed their career plans and that they often turn to him for guidance.
The pair also said they want to build a future in modeling. That ambition follows the path of their late mother, Kim Porter, who was a model.
