Fallen Angels live capture sets October cinema run
Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara’s Tony-nominated Broadway revival will play cinemas in several countries starting Oct. 22.

The Fallen Angels live capture is heading from Broadway to movie screens, with Trafalgar Releasing set to open the filmed version of the Noël Coward comedy in cinemas on Oct. 22.
Trafalgar Releasing, working with BroadwayHD, said the limited theatrical engagement will include the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia and other selected international territories. The release gives the Roundabout Theatre Company revival another run after its sold-out Broadway engagement ended last month.
The production stars Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara, who both received Tony Award nominations for their performances. Scott Ellis directed the revival, which was filmed live at Roundabout’s Todd Haimes Theatre on Broadway.
When is Fallen Angels coming to cinemas?
The filmed Broadway production begins its limited cinema engagement on Oct. 22, according to Trafalgar Releasing. The company said theaters in North America and several international markets will take part, with additional selected territories also included.
The cinema release follows a theatrical live-capture run for Broadway’s Hadestown, which came from Bleecker Street, Crosswalk and LD Entertainment.
Byrne said in a statement that being part of Ellis’s revival was “so special” and called Coward’s comedy “the perfect entertaining escape.” O’Hara said she was thrilled the play would reach theater fans in cinemas in North America and around the world, adding that she hoped audiences enjoy it on the big screen as much as Broadway crowds did.
What is Fallen Angels about?
Fallen Angels is a 1925 Noël Coward comedy about two upper-class married women whose husbands are away for the day. As they drink together, they revisit past romances and realize they once loved the same man, who may be traveling from France to see them.
The revival began previews on March 27 and opened April 19. Roundabout’s production earned five Tony nominations, including Best Revival of a Play, scenic design, and acting nods for Byrne and O’Hara.
Jeff Mahshie won the Tony Award for costume design for the production.
The cast also features Tracee Chimo, Mark Consuelos, Christopher Fitzgerald and Aasif Mandvi. Consuelos made his Broadway debut in the revival.
BroadwayHD co-founders Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley said in a statement that the company’s mission includes making theater more accessible and that they expect the production to please audiences worldwide.
Kymberli Frueh, executive vice president of programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, said theater remains a priority genre for the company and continues to contribute to cinema box office revenue through cultural-event screenings.
