Peacock has ordered a scripted Fast & Furious series, moving the Fast & Furious Peacock series from development to a formal series order. The streamer is aiming for a 2028 premiere, Variety reported, though no exact launch date has been announced.

The project is one live-action scripted show, not a confirmed four-series order. Vin Diesel said at NBCUniversal's May upfront presentation that Peacock was launching four shows in the franchise universe, but Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter reported at the time that only one Peacock project was actively in development.

When will the Fast & Furious Peacock series premiere?

Peacock is targeting 2028, according to Variety. That would put the show alongside the planned March 17, 2028 theatrical release of Fast Forever, the next film in the franchise, but the streaming date remains a target rather than a locked premiere.

Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will co-run the series, write its pilot and serve as executive producers. Daniels' previous credits include Sons of Anarchy, Shades of Blue and The Rockford Files; Coleman previously worked on Shades of Blue and 9-1-1: Lone Star, Variety reported.

Who is making the Fast & Furious series?

Diesel is an executive producer alongside Sam Vincent of One Race, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, plus Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Morgan. Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, is producing the series.

Diesel first revealed in May that the franchise was moving toward scripted television. At that stage, Deadline reported that Peacock had one series in the works while other Fast & Furious projects were at different stages of development at Universal Television.

Peacock has not announced a premise, cast, episode count or where the show will sit within the movie franchise's continuity. The order confirms the single scripted project has advanced, while the finer details are still under wraps.
