In a Violent Nature: Part 2 has set its theatrical premiere for Feb. 12, 2027, with Independent Film Company and Shudder bringing Johnny back to the big screen. Ry Barrett, who plays the sequel’s killer, announced the date during Shudder’s New York Comic Con panel, according to Deadline and IndieWire.
The follow-up arrives following the original’s breakout in Sundance’s Midnight program in 2024. The first film’s sequel was initially announced as being in early development in July 2024 by IFC Films and Shudder, Variety reported.
When is In a Violent Nature: Part 2 coming out?
The confirmed date is Feb. 12, 2027. Reporting establishes a theatrical premiere, but does not specify a streaming date or a broader release plan.
Barrett returns as Johnny, whose latest rampage takes him to a summer camp. There, a young outcast camper is made to stay overnight with her counselor sister and the sister’s friends during their end-of-season party, Deadline reported.
The premise moves the action away from the woods that framed the 2024 film, which followed Johnny from the killer’s perspective as he pursued victims. Variety reported that unusual viewpoint was central to the first movie’s slasher setup.
Who made the In a Violent Nature sequel?
Deadline reports that Chris Nash and Nate Wilson co-directed In a Violent Nature: Part 2. Nash wrote the screenplay and is producing with Peter Kuplowsky and Shannon Hanmer.
Nash wrote and directed the first film. When the sequel was announced in 2024, Variety reported that Nash was set to write the follow-up, while Kuplowsky and Hanmer were named as producers. A director had not yet been announced at that stage, IndieWire reported.
For now, the announced theatrical date gives horror fans one firm detail: Johnny’s next trip to summer camp is scheduled for February 2027.
