Jake Anderson’s split from estranged wife Jenna Anderson has sailed straight into a fight over money, parenting and even the date their marriage effectively ended.
The Deadliest Catch star filed for divorce in September 2025, and court documents reviewed by Us Weekly show the former couple disagreeing on several key points as they work through the case.
Different dates, different demands
According to Us Weekly, Jake lists August 1, 2025, as the couple’s separation date. Jenna gives a different timeline in her filing, saying they separated roughly two weeks earlier.
The paperwork also shows a split over financial support. Us Weekly reports that Jake says spousal support is unnecessary, while Jenna says she needs financial assistance from him.
Jenna also challenges Jake’s accounting of expenses tied to their children, calling his breakdown too unclear, according to the report. She does agree with the idea of dividing those costs, Us Weekly reported.
Custody plan also in dispute
The couple share three children: Aidan, 10, Cadence, 8, and Luka, 5.
Jenna is asking the court to approve her proposed custody plan instead of Jake’s, according to the documents reviewed by Us Weekly. She is also seeking payment from Jake for her legal fees, as well as costs connected to the children’s education and extracurricular activities.
The filings indicate the dispute is not limited to monthly support. The two are also asking the court to decide how parenting time and child-related spending should be handled as the divorce moves ahead.
Marriage history in the filings
Jake and Jenna married in 2012. In her filing, Jenna says their committed relationship began earlier, in 2009, and describes it as marriage-like before they officially wed, according to Us Weekly.
Jenna also tells the court she plans to return to her maiden name.
Outside the court fight, Jake has shared posts on social media featuring a new girlfriend. TMZ reported that he has said the relationship began in March.
The divorce marks a major personal turn for Jake, whose career on Deadliest Catch has made him a familiar face to viewers of the long-running fishing series. For now, the next big catches in the case appear to be support, custody and who pays for what.
