Josh Goldstine Warner Bros. Paramount is the latest personnel move reported as Skydance brings the studios together. Variety reported Oct. 6, citing sources, that Goldstine would take charge of marketing and distribution for theatrical releases across Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures and later Skydance film labels.
The companies had not confirmed the move. Representatives for Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount gave no immediate comment to Variety, meaning the proposed role and its reporting lines remain unannounced by the studios.
What would Josh Goldstine’s Warner Bros. and Paramount role cover?
According to Variety, Goldstine would oversee how all theatrical films from the labels are marketed and distributed. Marketing covers the campaigns used to promote a movie; theatrical distribution covers getting it into cinemas.
The report describes a structure in which Warner Bros. marketing executives Dana Nussbaum and Christian Davin, along with Jeff Goldstein, the president of global theatrical distribution, would report to Goldstine. Variety said Goldstine met with those executives on the day of its report, citing a knowledgeable insider.
The move would expand a job Goldstine already held at Paramount. Screen Daily reported in October 2025 that Paramount appointed him president of global marketing and distribution, placing the studio’s worldwide marketing and distribution operations under his oversight. He reported to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein.
Before Paramount, Goldstine was Warner Bros.’ president of worldwide marketing until early 2025, Screen Daily reported. The trade publication said his Warner Bros. work included campaigns for Barbie, Dune, The Batman, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Wonka. It also reported that he previously led marketing at Universal Pictures and spent more than two decades at Sony Pictures.
How does the reported role fit Skydance’s film leadership?
Variety said David Ellison had closed the Warner Bros. deal on the Tuesday of its report. It also said Greenstein and Goldberg had been named co-chairs of Skydance Motion Picture Group, with oversight of both Warner Bros. and Paramount.
That puts Goldstine’s reported new remit one step beyond his 2025 Paramount assignment: one theatrical marketing-and-distribution leader across the film businesses named in Variety’s report. There were no reported details on a start date, job terms or the scope of work outside theatrical releases.
- Early 2025: Goldstine left his Warner Bros. worldwide marketing post, according to Screen Daily.
