LeBron James brought the biggest flash to the TIME100 Sports Gala in New York on Thursday night, with TMZ reporting that the NBA star arrived with Savannah James for a red carpet packed with sports names.
Getty photos published by TMZ showed LeBron and Savannah dressed in black for the event. The pair were among the most closely watched arrivals at the gala, which drew athletes, champions and one very familiar royal face.
The NBA presence did not stop with LeBron. TMZ identified Jalen Brunson at the event with his wife, Ali. The outlet described Brunson as a new champion and Finals MVP.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was also on the guest list, according to TMZ, which referred to him as the regular season MVP. Cooper Flagg, identified by TMZ as Rookie of the Year, was listed among the basketball names in attendance as well.
Sports stars fill the carpet
The gala was not only a hoops hangout. TMZ reported that soccer star Alex Morgan and Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim were also present, adding more championship hardware to the room.
Prince Harry attended the New York event too, according to TMZ. The outlet noted that Meghan Markle was not there.
The event photos, credited to Getty by TMZ, focused on the arrivals and fashion from the night. The outlet also published a gallery tied to the TIME100 Sports Gala, showing celebrities and athletes at the gathering.
The names reported at the gala gave the carpet a wide sports spread: basketball stars past and present, a soccer standout, an Olympic gold medalist and a member of the British royal family.
TMZ’s coverage centered on the celebrity arrivals rather than speeches, awards or programming inside the event. No comments from the attendees were reported in the coverage.
