Marshals season 2 trailer sends Kayce Dutton toward trouble
CBS has released the Marshals season 2 trailer, teasing Tate’s danger, returning teammates and an October 4 return date.

The Marshals season 2 trailer has arrived, putting Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton back in the line of fire before the Yellowstone spinoff returns to CBS on October 4. The footage closes with Kayce climbing onto a moving train while carrying a gun, according to Deadline.
A calmer assessment comes from Deputy U.S. Marshal Andrea Cruz, played by Ash Santos. “You really are a chaos magnet, cowboy,” Cruz tells Kayce in the trailer.
Deadline reports that the new footage also gives viewers their first indication of where several characters stand after the Season 1 finale.
What does the Marshals season 2 trailer reveal?
The trailer indicates that Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Pete “Cal” Calvin, played by Logan Marshall-Green, and Deputy U.S. Marshal Isabel “Belle” Skinner-Turek, played by Arielle Kebbel, survived the Season 1 shootout. It also suggests the two are growing closer.
Cruz appears to have stayed with the team after weighing a job in Washington, D.C., and saying goodbye to her colleagues. In the trailer, she says she has not had teammates who fight for each other in the way this group does.
The biggest personal danger remains around Kayce’s son, Tate, played by Brecken Merrill. Deadline says Tate is still in jeopardy after Tom Weaver, a Wall Street trader turned rancher played by Chris Mulkley, took him bass fishing in Texas. Weaver has been trying to buy East Camp.
One trailer exchange has Kayce tell Tate that it hurts to think of what his son has endured. Tate answers that he is strong, “like how you raised me to be,” adding: “It’s the Dutton way.”
Who else is caught up in Kayce’s story?
The footage also points to Kayce continuing to grow close to Dolly Weaver, played by Ellyn Jameson. That relationship comes with a clear complication: Dolly is Tom Weaver’s daughter.
Kayce frames the wider pressure in terms of the Dutton family legacy. In the trailer, he says it was never about land, but about having to fight, and adds that someone seems willing to kill for it wherever he lives.
Season 2 will also add Marque Richardson in a recurring role as Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns, Deadline reported. Morgan Lindholm’s part will expand as Maddie, the bartender at the Bullet ’N Barrel and Cal’s daughter.
