Martha Stewart is not sounding the alarm over Daisy Toye’s leap toward reality-TV fame, even as her longtime makeup artist gets pulled into the latest swirl around “The Real Housewives of New York.”

TMZ reported that Stewart spoke on camera about Toye, who has worked with her for two decades, as Toye prepares to appear on the upcoming season of “RHONY.” The chatter around Toye has centered on whether the show could become a launchpad for a bigger public profile.

According to TMZ, unnamed sources close to “RHONY” previously claimed Toye had made it clear during production that she wanted the reality series to help make her famous. Those sources also claimed that such a move would mean Toye would stop working for Stewart.

Toye pushed back on the claims in comments to TMZ. She said there was “no truth or validity” to the statements involving Stewart.

Stewart, for her part, met the drama with a joke. Asked by TMZ about the earlier report, she said she agreed with it and called Toye “a turncoat!”

A long-running glam partnership meets reality TV

The Stewart-Toye connection is not a quick celebrity booking, according to TMZ. Toye has been part of Stewart’s beauty team for around 20 years, making the “RHONY” buzz more personal than the usual cast shake-up chatter.

TMZ characterized Stewart as unbothered by the possibility of Toye trading behind-the-scenes glam work for a bigger role in front of the camera. Stewart also addressed whether she would be upset if Toye left her orbit for Housewives fame, according to the outlet.

The report did not include a detailed answer from Stewart on that point beyond the playful “turncoat” jab and the outlet’s description that she is not worried about losing Toye to the spotlight.

For now, the public split is mostly a reality-TV tease. TMZ has the production-side claim from unnamed “RHONY” sources, Toye’s denial, and Stewart’s wink-to-camera response.

That leaves Toye heading into the upcoming “RHONY” season with two decades of Martha Stewart glam history behind her and a fresh round of attention before viewers even see how her role plays out.
