The Memory of a Killer season 2 cast is adding a new force from Angelo’s past: Meta Golding has joined the Fox drama as a series regular opposite Patrick Dempsey, Deadline reports.
Golding will play Mel, the childhood sweetheart of Dempsey’s Angelo Flannery/Doyle. Deadline reports the role is currently set under a one-year deal.
Mel is described in the report as a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist who has spent her career chasing stories in dangerous places. The character is sharp, funny, direct and driven by the truth, according to Deadline’s character details.

Golding’s Mel returns to Angelo’s life after a romance that ended because of his tragic past, Deadline reports. In Season 2, she becomes his love interest while working with him to avenge a tragic loss.

The series is inspired by a book and the 2003 award-winning Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer. Season 2 is scheduled to premiere midseason 2027 on Fox, Deadline reports.

Dempsey is among the executive producers, alongside showrunners Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler. Arthur Sarkissian, Martin Campbell and Peter Bouckaert of Eyeworks also executive produce, according to Deadline.
