Milania Giudice is seen sitting handcuffed in the back of a police vehicle in newly surfaced footage from her May assault arrest in New Jersey, with the video appearing to show her smiling and laughing at points.
The squad car camera footage, originally obtained by Page Six and cited by TMZ, shows Giudice in the back seat with her hands behind her and a seat belt fastened. The video appears to capture a mix of reactions, with Giudice looking amused in some moments and more subdued in others.
The images are credited to the Montville Police Department. TMZ reported that Giudice was arrested in May in connection with an alleged incident at her mother Teresa Giudice’s home in New Jersey.
Prosecutors have alleged that Milania Giudice punched another person in the head, according to TMZ’s reporting on a court appearance earlier this week. Police have said one of Giudice’s sisters called officers, TMZ reported.
Giudice has pleaded not guilty to assault. If convicted, TMZ reported she could face up to six months in jail, probation and fines of more than $500.
Case has already spilled onto social media
The police car footage is the latest public turn in a case that has already played out partly online. TMZ reported that Giudice addressed the arrest last month after sharing what appeared to be an AI-generated mug shot and joking with fans that it could not be real because she looked better in the actual one.
TMZ has also reported that Giudice has been leaning on relatives from her father Joe Giudice’s side of the family, including his mother and sister. The outlet said she is not currently on good terms with her own sisters.
Earlier related reporting from TMZ said Giudice had shared messages involving sisters Gabriella and Audriana after the arrest. TMZ also reported previous police details alleging food and candles were thrown before officers were called.
Teresa Giudice, best known from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” has not been reported in this account as facing any charge tied to the incident. The allegation described by prosecutors is against Milania Giudice, who has denied the assault charge through her not guilty plea.
The next court date in the case is scheduled for August 11, according to TMZ.
