Mini War has picked up three more players for its mini-golf melee: Brett Gelman, Kevin Nealon and Rob Morgan, according to Deadline.

The feature comedy already has Luke Wilson, Vanessa Hudgens and Nick Swardson at the center of the action. Deadline reports the project comes from a familiar crew for fans of Grandma’s Boy, with Swardson and Allen Covert writing the screenplay and Joel David Moore directing.

The setup is pure small-business chaos. Wilson plays Joe, a laid-back stoner who receives a mini golf course after his uncle dies, according to Deadline. Joe wants to sell the place, but he is looking for a buyer who will respect what his uncle built.

Across the street sits trouble on wheels. Swardson plays Darren, the owner of a go-cart track who wants the mini golf land for himself, according to Deadline. His plan is to knock down the course, grow his go-cart operation and chase what the report describes as his NazzKart dream.

Hudgens plays Olivia, who runs a roadside food stand called Who Let the Hot Dogs Out between the two rival attractions, Deadline reports. As Joe and Darren’s plans collide, Olivia and a pack of local oddballs get pulled into the fight.

Who the new cast members play

Gelman, known for Stranger Things, will appear as Ned Parker, Deadline reports. Ned is described as an offbeat Milwaukee investor who wants to buy the mini golf course from Joe.

Morgan, another Stranger Things alum, is playing Ruben, the course manager, according to Deadline. Ruben helped Joe’s late uncle build the place. Nealon, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, has joined the film as well, though Deadline did not identify his character.

The supporting cast is already crowded. Deadline lists Dave Sheridan of Scary Movie, Blake Anderson of Workaholics, John Farley of Little Nicky, Tobias Jelinek of Baskets, Romy Malviya of Gunpoint, Sharon Azrieli of Kaet Might Die, JB Yowell of The Leader, Katherine Lunam of Kaet Might Die, Nicholas Turturro of The Longest Yard and Morgan Kohan of Sullivan’s Crossing among the ensemble.

Producers on the film include Jarod Einsohn, Moore through Balcony 9 Productions and Limor Hakim of Level 1 Entertainment, according to Deadline. The producing roster also includes Grandma’s Boy producers Bill Todman Jr. and Edward Milstein of Level 1 Entertainment, along with David Wachs and Ojan Missaghi of Toric Films.

Deadline also reports that Capture Entertainment has taken worldwide sales rights to the film.
