NBC Newlyweds cast adds Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Bill O’Neill
Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Bill O’Neill have joined NBC’s fall multi-cam comedy Newlyweds as series regulars.

The NBC Newlyweds cast is filling out fast: Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Bill O’Neill have joined the new multi-camera comedy as series regulars, Variety reported.
The trio will appear opposite Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, who lead the series. Variety also previously reported that Jamie Lee Curtis, an executive producer on the show, will appear in a recurring guest role.
Newlyweds is described by Variety as a later-in-life romance centered on a free-spirited woman played by Leoni and a buttoned-up professor played by Daly. The two marry quickly after a whirlwind courtship.
Who is in the NBC Newlyweds cast?
Meisel will play Poppy, while Diaz-Silverio will play Lolo, Variety reported. The report identifies both characters as tied to Leoni’s character, Jeanie, and says Lolo is adopted.
O’Neill will play Arvid, the assistant to Daly’s character, James, in the philosophy department at the University of Oslo, according to Variety.
Meisel’s recent credits include the Disney+ series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. Variety also noted her role in Destry Allyn Spielberg’s debut film Please Don’t Feed the Children, as well as appearances across multiple episodes of American Horror Story Season 9.
Meisel is represented by Innovative Artists and MGMT Entertainment, according to the report.
Diaz-Silverio is known for leading the Amazon series Primo, from Shea Serrano and Mike Schur. Variety also listed his television credits as Zero Day, Law & Order: SVU and FBI, with film work including Zach Braff’s A Good Person.
Diaz-Silverio is represented by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment, Variety reported.
O’Neill received an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer for The Amazing Banana Brothers at the Edinburgh Fringe, according to Variety. He is also a co-creator of the FX show Two Pink Doors and appears in Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man.
O’Neill is represented by UTA and Venture Entertainment Partners.

Gail Lerner is the writer and an executive producer on Newlyweds, Variety reported. Executive producers also include Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum for The Tannenbaum Company, Curtis, Scott Schwartz and Lionsgate Television.
Pam Fryman directed the pilot and also executive produced it. Universal Television is the studio behind the series.
Newlyweds is one of two new comedies NBC ordered for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, according to Variety. The other is the single-camera comedy Sunset P.I.
NBC plans to premiere Newlyweds in the fall, while Sunset P.I. is being kept for midseason, Variety reported.
