Prime Video’s Reacher has lined up four new series regulars for its next case, with Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand, Amanda Ip and Ciara Bravo joining the Reacher season 5 cast, Deadline reports.

The casting news arrives before season 4 reaches viewers. Deadline reports that the fourth season of the Alan Ritchson-led drama is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, August 12.

Who is joining Reacher season 5?

According to Deadline, Baruchel will appear as Chief Buck Bauer. Durand has been cast as Nokes, Ip will play Michelle Chang, and Bravo will play Eunice.

Baruchel’s recent credits listed by Deadline include FUBAR and This Is the End. Durand’s credits include Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Naked Gun. Ip has appeared in Transplant, Plan B and Cross, while Bravo’s credits include Voicemails for Isabelle and The Most Dangerous Game.

Ritchson stars as Jack Reacher, the wandering former military investigator at the center of Lee Child’s book series. The show follows Reacher as he moves around the United States with little more than the essentials, getting pulled into trouble that calls for both brains and muscle.

Deadline reports that the fourth season’s cast includes Ritchson along with Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.

What book is Reacher season 5 based on?

Deadline reports that season 5 will adapt Make Me, the 20th novel in Child’s Jack Reacher series. In that story, Reacher gets off a train in the strange town of Mother’s Rest, joins a private investigator looking into a missing person, and discovers a violent criminal plot.

The book detail gives fans the outline of the season’s engine, though Deadline did not report episode counts or a season 5 premiere date. The four new regulars are the first key pieces named for the Make Me adaptation.

Reacher is made by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline. Nick Santora, whose credits include FUBAR and Prison Break, developed the series for television, serves as showrunner and executive produces.

Deadline reports that Santora, Child and Ritchson are among the executive producers on season 4, joined by Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are executives in charge for Paramount Television Studios.

Deadline also reported representation for the newly announced actors: Baruchel is represented by Thruline Entertainment, CAA and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols; Durand by CAA, Alchemy Entertainment and Brecheen Feldman Breimer; and Bravo by UTA and Myman Greenspan Fox.
