Savannah Guthrie returned to Instagram with a direct plea in the Savannah Guthrie mother kidnapping case, asking anyone involved in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance to reveal where her family should search.
In a new video posted to Instagram, the “Today” host said her family remains in pain months after her mother disappeared. Variety reported it was Guthrie’s first new video since April directly addressing the people she believes took her mother.
Guthrie said in the video that “nothing” about the situation had changed and that her family would continue looking for Nancy. She urged anyone with knowledge of her mother’s location to “do the right thing,” adding, “Tell us where to look for her.”
What happened to Savannah Guthrie’s mother?
Nancy Guthrie went missing on Feb. 1 after she failed to arrive at her usual Sunday church service, according to Variety. The next day, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department described the case as a presumed kidnapping after investigators found concerning evidence at Nancy’s home in Tucson, Arizona.
The FBI later joined the search. According to Variety, the bureau announced a $100,000 reward for information that could lead to Nancy’s recovery, then raised it to $200,000 and, on Feb. 24, to $1 million.
Authorities have not reported any arrests in the case, according to Variety.
What did investigators find at Nancy Guthrie’s home?
On Feb. 10, the FBI recovered video from a destroyed Ring doorbell camera at Nancy’s home, Variety reported. Investigators said the footage showed the only person of interest in the case.
The FBI described the person seen in the video as a male, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, with an average build. According to Variety, the footage showed him approaching Nancy’s front door while armed and carrying a hiking backpack.
After that footage was made public, the FBI said it received more than 13,000 tips about Nancy, Variety reported. The search has continued without a public break in the case.
What has Savannah Guthrie said before?
Guthrie has used social media several times to ask for help finding her mother, according to Variety. In her Feb. 24 video, she acknowledged that Nancy might be lost or dead, but said the family needed to know where she was.
In the latest Instagram message, Guthrie again aimed her appeal at the unknown person or people who may know what happened. She asked them to help bring the case to an end and said she believes there is “a way home” regardless of what has happened.
The case remains centered on one urgent question for the family and investigators: where to look next. Guthrie’s new video makes that request plain, with the reward still standing and no arrests announced.
