Starz reveals young Ghost, Tommy and Kanan in Power: Origins teaser
The Power prequel brings Spence Moore, Charlie Mann and MeKai Curtis together as the franchise rolls cameras in New Jersey.

Ghost, Tommy and Kanan are back on the block, only this time Starz is rolling the clock way back.
The network has released the first teaser and new photos from Power: Origins, its latest expansion of the Power franchise, showing Spence Moore as Ghost, Charlie Mann as Tommy and MeKai Curtis returning as Kanan Stark.
Curtis is stepping back into the role he plays on Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The original versions of Ghost and Tommy were played by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in Power, the series that launched the wider TV universe.
Deadline reports that the show is still in production in New Jersey.
The teaser offers only a brief look, but it puts the three future franchise heavyweights together in their earlier years. Starz is positioning the prequel as the origin story of Ghost, Tommy and Kanan, following them as ambitious young entrepreneurs trying to make their names on the streets of New York City.
According to Starz, Power: Origins will explore a new period in the franchise and focus on the nerve and drive of young men trying to become legends in the game.
A growing Power universe
Power: Origins is the fourth spinoff in the Power universe. It follows Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force.
Starz has also recently greenlit a fifth spinoff, Power: Legacy. That series is set in the present-day timeline and will follow events from Power Book IV: Force, according to Deadline.
The franchise has built its world across multiple corners of the original crime drama, with Origins now going back to the beginning for three of its most recognizable names.
Who is behind the prequel
Power: Origins was created by Courtney A. Kemp and Sascha Penn. Penn is showrunner and executive producer, and the pilot was co-written by Penn and Kemp.
Kemp, who created and served as showrunner on the original Power, executive produces through her company End of Episode. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces through G-Unit Film and Television, while Mark Canton executive produces through Canton Entertainment.
Chris Selak, Kevin Fox and Pete Chatmon are also executive producers. Chatmon is also a director on the series. Lionsgate Television produces the show for Starz.
Starz’s first look gives fans the franchise’s youngest Ghost and Tommy yet, paired with Curtis’ Kanan before the future laid out in the original series catches up with them.
