The Suri Cruise name change is showing up in Pennsylvania records: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ only child together registered to vote in 2024 under the name Suri Noelle, TMZ reported.
TMZ said it confirmed the voting record from Pennsylvania. The registration came during Suri’s freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University, according to the outlet.
Page Six first reported the name news and said Pennsylvania courts confirmed that voters must register using their legal names. Based on that requirement, Page Six reported that Suri has legally dropped Cruise from her name.

Page Six reported that Pennsylvania’s voter registration rules require a legal name, and the record lists her as Suri Noelle. TMZ reported the same Pennsylvania record and said it confirms she is no longer using Cruise in that filing.
The name Noelle has a family tie: Katie Holmes’ middle name is Noelle. The available records cited by TMZ and Page Six do not spell out when any court process for the change happened or why Suri made the switch.
A source told TMZ that Suri and Tom have been estranged since she was 7 years old. Tom’s representative had not responded to TMZ’s request for comment, the outlet said.
The family history has long drawn public attention. Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise in 2012 after six years of marriage, according to TMZ. Suri is the former couple’s only child together.
Cruise also has two adopted children, Bella and Connor, with his former wife Nicole Kidman, TMZ reported.
The latest name detail comes after another round of public speculation about Suri’s finances. In December 2024, Holmes denied reports that Suri had inherited a trust fund from Cruise, according to TMZ.
