The Tara Long Blink49 promotion gives the executive a bigger brief at the independent studio, with oversight of new ventures now added to her global unscripted television role, Deadline reported.
Long, who joined Blink49 Studios in January 2024 as president of global unscripted television, is now president, global unscripted television and studio ventures. Her expanded remit includes the company’s creator studios, brand studio and vertical content division.
The move puts Long over a broader slice of Blink49’s growth strategy as the company builds programming across television, creator-led projects, brand-backed formats and short-form vertical storytelling.
What is Tara Long's new Blink49 role?
Long will continue running global unscripted television for Blink49 while also overseeing studio ventures. According to Deadline, those ventures include Blink49 Creator Studios, its brand studio and a vertical content division.
Blink49 launched its brand studio last year to create new models for brand-funded programming. One example cited by Deadline is Murder at the Mansion, a vertical micro-drama made in partnership with Uber Eats.
Blink49 Creator Studios focuses on creator-led intellectual property across platforms. Its slate includes a documentary about the New York Knicks’ championship-winning run, directed by Travon Free, according to Deadline.
What has Tara Long worked on at Blink49?
Since arriving at the studio, Long has overseen unscripted projects including WeTV’s The Braxtons and Amazon’s Romcon: Who The F**k Is Jason Porter?, Deadline reported.
She also led Blink49’s acquisition of Lighthearted Entertainment earlier this year. Lighthearted is the company behind MTV’s Are You The One?
Blink49’s current business also includes E!’s upcoming reality series The Golden Life, which features several veterans of The Real Housewives of New York.
John Morayniss, CEO of Blink49 Studios, said Long has played a key role in building businesses tied to the company’s next phase. In a statement reported by Deadline, Morayniss said he has worked with Long for many years and praised her ability to spot where the industry is heading and find new opportunities.
Morayniss said the expanded job recognizes Long’s impact across Blink49 and that the company is looking to her to keep building the areas now under her leadership.
The promotion reflects Blink49’s push beyond traditional television production, with unscripted series, creator-driven projects and advertiser-backed entertainment now sitting closer together under one executive.
