The Tay Keith estate is now being handled by the late producer’s mother after court filings showed he left behind a wide-ranging collection of assets, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported that Jalisa Chambers, the mother of Tay Keith, has been appointed administrator of her son’s estate. The producer, whose real name was Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, died June 18, 2026, at age 29.
The filings described a sizable estate, but TMZ did not report a total dollar value. The listed assets include bank accounts, money market accounts, luxury vehicles and several music-related interests tied to the producer’s career.
What was in Tay Keith's estate?
According to the court documents cited by TMZ, the estate includes a Mercedes-Maybach and a Lamborghini, along with a 50% interest in a home in Memphis, Tennessee.
The paperwork also lists an interest in Shadow Tequila, a 50% stake in an engineering studio, music publishing interests, Tay Keith’s music catalog, his trademark and royalties, TMZ reported.
Chambers said in the filings that she expects to work with Tay Keith’s record label and publishing companies to have payments directed to her as administrator, according to TMZ.
The court papers also noted that Tay Keith was not married and had no children at the time of his death. TMZ reported that he did not leave a will.
When someone dies without a will, a court can appoint an administrator to handle the estate. In this case, TMZ says that role has gone to Chambers.
How did Tay Keith die?
TMZ previously reported that Tay Keith was found dead inside his Nashville apartment after his girlfriend called 911 to request a welfare check.
According to TMZ’s account of the emergency call, his girlfriend told authorities he had asked her to come over, then stopped responding. She also told police that Tay Keith had high blood pressure and breathing issues.
His cause of death has not been released, according to TMZ.
Tay Keith was a major name in hip-hop production and worked with artists including Travis Scott and Sexyy Red, TMZ reported. His death at 29 left behind unfinished business in court and a catalog now moving through the estate process.
The new estate filings put the focus on the business side of his legacy: the vehicles, property interests, studio stake, brand interests and music rights that now fall under his mother’s administration.
