Taylor Frankie Paul responds after DCFS filing surfaces

Taylor Frankie Paul says she is leaving the courtroom fight to her lawyers after public attention turned to filings in her ongoing custody case.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star addressed the matter in a lengthy Instagram video posted Saturday, according to TMZ. Paul told followers that some claims circulating about the case are accurate and others are not, and said issues she believes are inaccurate or misrepresented will be handled by her attorneys in court.

Paul said in the video that she has not felt the need to read the filings because she lived through the events described in them and knows her version of what happened, TMZ reported.

Paul says sealing request was about her children

Paul also discussed her earlier effort to keep the juvenile case sealed. According to TMZ, she said the request was made to protect her children rather than herself.

She said the request was denied at the beginning of the case and added that she believed details from the proceedings were going to become public eventually, TMZ reported.

Paul described the court process as slow but said she has made major progress. In the Saturday video, she said that same day marked the start of what she described as her longest stretch of parenting time with her son so far, according to TMZ.

She also questioned why additional information appeared to surface on the same day she said she got him back for five days.

Specific claims addressed

Paul pushed back on several claims referenced in the court filings, TMZ reported.

She denied forcing her daughter, Indy, to change the diapers of her younger brother, Ever. Paul said Indy likes helping with him, according to TMZ.

Paul also responded to an allegation involving an emotional moment during a supervised visit. She said she stepped outside to calm herself because she believed that was the best way to lower the intensity of the situation, TMZ reported.

The reality star also challenged comments attributed to a therapist in the filing. According to TMZ, Paul said she had only met that therapist a few times and did not feel supported by that person.

Paul said she supports mental health treatment and is currently working with a licensed therapist as well as a life coach, TMZ reported.

DCFS petition remains pending

TMZ previously reported that Utah’s Department of Children and Family Services has asked a juvenile court to determine that Paul’s three children are “abused, neglected or dependent.”

The case is still ongoing, according to TMZ.

Paul’s comments mark her public response after the filings drew attention around her family and parenting. She said matters she disputes will be addressed through the legal process rather than in detail on social media, according to TMZ.
