Tom Brady found one more target with Rob Gronkowski on the other end, and this time the payoff was 500 gallons of Raising Cane’s sauce.

According to TMZ Sports, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback dunked his longtime tight end on Thursday during a Raising Cane’s Fan Zone event tied to Gronkowski’s Fanatics Fest appearance.

The video published by TMZ shows fans gathered around as Brady stepped up for a dunk-tank throw. His job was simple: hit the target and send Gronkowski into a tank filled with the chicken chain’s signature sauce.

Brady delivered. TMZ Sports reported that he threw a clean spiral into the target, dropping Gronkowski from his seat and into the sauce below.

A very saucy reunion

The dunk was messy from the first splash. TMZ Sports said the tank held 500 gallons of Raising Cane’s sauce, and the clip showed the condiment flying as Gronkowski hit the liquid.

Gronkowski, listed by TMZ as 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, disappeared into the tank before coming back up coated in sauce. The outlet reported that he was not exactly thrilled to have the condiment all over him, even if it is better known as a dip for chicken fingers than as dunk-tank material.

There was no sign of any hard feelings in the aftermath. TMZ Sports said Gronkowski posed for a photo with Brady and Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves after the dunk.

The appearance gave the two former teammates another public moment together after a football partnership that ran through two franchises and several championship runs.

Brady and Gronk add one more connection

Brady and Gronkowski built one of the NFL’s most productive quarterback-tight end pairings during their years with the Patriots and Buccaneers. According to TMZ Sports, they connected for 93 touchdowns across their time together in New England and Tampa Bay.

The pair also won four Super Bowls together, TMZ noted. Three came during their run with the Patriots, and another came after both reunited with the Buccaneers.

Thursday’s throw carried no playoff stakes, no pass rush and no end zone. The result was still vintage Brady-to-Gronk, just with a dunk tank, a crowd of fans and a lot more sauce than the old playbook ever called for.

TMZ Sports framed the toss as another Brady highlight, with Gronkowski taking the hit in good humor after the saucy plunge.
