The Tony Romo OWI bodycam video now has a longer cut, with TMZ Sports posting extended footage from the July 23 traffic stop in Wisconsin that ended with the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
According to TMZ, Romo told officers during the stop that he had recently left a golf tournament and was traveling to see his grandparents when he was pulled over. The new video follows an earlier portion of bodycam footage released Tuesday.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is identified by TMZ as the agency connected to the footage. Police said Romo did poorly during field sobriety exercises before they took him into custody on suspicion of OWI, according to TMZ’s reporting.

The extended footage shows more of the roadside encounter between Romo and law enforcement, including his explanation that he was on his way to meet his grandmother and grandfather, according to TMZ. It also includes the sequence around the sobriety exercises that police later cited in the arrest.
OWI means operating while intoxicated. In Wisconsin, the phrase refers to an impaired-driving allegation involving the operation of a vehicle.
TMZ previously reported that Romo was stopped in Wisconsin on July 23. The outlet later posted a shorter clip from the police video before publishing the fuller version through TMZ Sports.
What happens next in the case?
Court records cited by TMZ show Romo was also cited for refusing to take an intoxication test after the arrest. That citation could affect his driving privileges, according to TMZ.
Romo has asked for a hearing to contest the citation, TMZ reported. The outlet said he could still lose his license for one year.
The arrest has already affected at least one public appearance. TMZ reported earlier that Romo backed out of a golf tournament after the OWI arrest.
Romo is best known for his run as quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. TMZ did not report a public statement from Romo addressing the arrest beyond what was captured in the bodycam footage.
The case remains centered on the July 23 Wisconsin stop, the sheriff’s office footage and the court-record citation over the intoxication test refusal. Police allegations have not been resolved in court, and Romo’s request for a hearing means the driving-privileges issue is still being challenged.
