Victoria Beckham turned her Portofino ’97 fragrance launch in New York into a Beckham family outing Friday, with one familiar face missing: Brooklyn Beckham.

Photos shared on Instagram by Victoria Beckham Beauty and Victoria showed the designer and former Spice Girl celebrating at Caffe Paradiso in Nolita. In one image, she wrapped an arm around her 23-year-old son Romeo Beckham as they posed together at the event.

The post described the gathering as a special day with Beckham, the brand’s founder and creative director, tied to the story behind Portofino ’97. The pop-up experience was staged with Caffe Paradiso NYC, according to the Instagram caption.

Romeo was not the only Beckham child there. The carousel also showed 21-year-old Cruz Beckham handing out samples, according to TMZ. Cruz attended with his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Jackie Apostel.

David Beckham and the couple’s daughter Harper Beckham were also at the launch, TMZ reported. Brooklyn, Victoria and David’s eldest son, was not present.

A latte with the launch

The brand’s Instagram post said visitors could try an exclusive ’97 Iced Vanilla Bergamot Latte as part of the fragrance pop-up. The caption listed the location as Caffe Paradiso, 202 Elizabeth Street in New York, with the experience running through July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The post also directed fans who could not attend in New York to find Portofino ’97 through VictoriaBeckhamBeauty.com.

The event drew attention because Brooklyn’s absence follows several other family occasions he reportedly missed. TMZ has reported a continuing rift involving Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, and the rest of the Beckham family.

More missed Beckham moments

TMZ reported that Brooklyn did not attend David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration in 2025 after Brooklyn and Peltz tried to meet privately with David and Victoria and were turned down.

The couple also stayed away from David’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in June, according to TMZ. The outlet has reported no clear sign of a reconciliation between Brooklyn, Peltz and the wider Beckham family.

TMZ’s report did not include comment from Brooklyn Beckham or Nicola Peltz. Victoria’s public-facing posts from the fragrance event focused on the launch, the pop-up and the family members who attended.

For Victoria, the New York stop was a polished beauty-brand moment with coffee, perfume and plenty of Beckham backup. Brooklyn’s absence, though, kept the family drama in the frame.
