Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are both booked for heavyweight tune-up fights on back-to-back July nights, according to CBS Sports’ 2026 boxing schedule, keeping alive the hope that the former champions could meet later in the year.
Brent Brookhouse of CBS Sports reported that Fury is scheduled to face Mariusz Wach on July 24 in Pattaya, Thailand, with the network still to be announced. Joshua follows on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, against Kristian Prenga, with DAZN listed as the broadcaster.
The heavyweight calendar has already had a wild turn this year. CBS Sports reported that unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk nearly lost to kickboxer Rico Verhoeven in May before securing what the outlet described as a controversial late stoppage win.
July is not only about the big men. CBS Sports lists former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. for a July 25 return against Tim Tszyu in Sydney, Australia. That bout is set at junior middleweight and is listed for Prime Video.
July brings three major returns
The late-July run gives boxing fans a busy three-day stretch across three continents. Fury opens it in Thailand, Joshua takes his turn in Saudi Arabia, and Spence fights Tszyu in Australia on the same date as Joshua’s comeback bout.
Another July 26 card is listed for New York, where Zuffa Boxing 09 features Edgar Berlanga against Steven Butler at super middleweight on Paramount+.
Title fights stack up in August
The August schedule starts in Las Vegas on Aug. 1, where Lamont Roach is listed to fight William Zepeda for the vacant WBC lightweight title on DAZN.
On Aug. 8 in Dublin, Aaron McKenna is scheduled to meet Etinosa Oliha for the vacant IBF middleweight title, with Paramount+ carrying the fight, according to CBS Sports.
More belts are on the line later in the month. Kaye Scott is listed to defend the unified middleweight title against Claressa Shields on Aug. 15 in Atlanta on DAZN. Amanda Serrano is scheduled to defend her unified featherweight title against Lucrecia Anabella Manzur on Aug. 21 in Temecula, California, on TikTok Live.
Rolando “Rolly” Romero’s WBA welterweight title defense against Teofimo Lopez Jr. is set for Aug. 22 in Las Vegas on pay-per-view, according to the schedule.
Aug. 29 brings two more notable fights in Britain. Moses Itauma is listed against Filip Hrgovic in a heavyweight bout in London on DAZN PPV, while Chantelle Cameron and Mikaela Mayer are scheduled to meet in Birmingham, England, for the unified junior middleweight title on ESPN+.
September has Canelo, Garcia and Taylor
Katie Taylor is scheduled for Sept. 5 in Dublin, Ireland, defending the undisputed junior welterweight title against Flora Pili on DAZN.
Sept. 12 is the next loaded date. CBS Sports lists Ryan Garcia defending the WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn in Las Vegas on Paramount+. The same day, Christian Mbilli is scheduled to defend the WBC super middleweight title against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in Riyadh on DAZN.
CBS Sports said its 2026 boxing calendar will continue to be updated as fights are changed or added.
