The Montreal Alouettes take a 4-1 record into Calgary this weekend, and SportsLine football analyst Emory Hunt is siding with them in one of the tighter lines on the CFL Week 7 board.

CBS Sports reported that Hunt has made picks for all four Week 7 matchups in the 2026 CFL season, a slate that arrives with three teams sitting at 4-1 and the Ottawa Redblacks still chasing their first win.

The week opens Friday at 9 p.m. ET, when the Edmonton Elks host the B.C. Lions. Saturday brings a doubleheader: Toronto visits Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. ET, while Montreal plays at Calgary at 4 p.m. ET. The week closes Sunday at 7 p.m. ET with Ottawa hosting Winnipeg.

Hunt’s Week 7 card

According to CBS Sports, Hunt’s picks against the spread are:

  • B.C. +2.5 against Edmonton
  • Montreal -1.5 against Calgary
  • Toronto -4.5 against Hamilton
  • Winnipeg -4.5 against Ottawa

Hunt, identified by CBS Sports as a SportsLine expert, played running back at Louisiana-Lafayette, coached high school football and founded the analysis site Football Gameplan. CBS Sports also cited his 132-111-2 record on NFL bets over the past three seasons.

Montreal gets the road nod

The Alouettes and Stampeders are running it back after meeting last weekend, and Hunt sees another close one coming. CBS Sports reported that he views the teams as similarly built, with last week’s back-and-forth game setting up a rematch where the narrow number pushed him toward Montreal on the road.

Montreal is one of the three 4-1 teams in the standings, according to CBS Sports, and is trying to keep its place near the top of the East Division picture as the season nears the one-third mark.

Blue Bombers picked to add to Ottawa’s misery

Ottawa enters Week 7 trying to avoid an 0-6 start, and Hunt’s Sunday pick goes against the Redblacks. CBS Sports reported that Hunt pointed to Ottawa’s quarterback troubles as a major reason for the poor opening stretch.

His view, according to the report, is that Ottawa has stayed competitive for stretches but has not produced the key late plays needed to finish games. Hunt expects Winnipeg to exploit those issues throughout the matchup.

Lions and Argos also on the ticket

In Edmonton, Hunt is taking B.C. with the points. CBS Sports noted that the Lions beat the Elks by double digits two weeks ago and now return from a bye, while Edmonton is listed as a slight favorite.

For Toronto-Hamilton, Hunt backs the Argonauts by 4.5. CBS Sports reported that he cited Hamilton’s quarterback situation after the Tiger-Cats faded late against Saskatchewan last week, while Toronto’s passing game is expected to put heavy pressure on the Ticats defense.
