Backpack deals for back to school are reaching as high as 71% off, according to a new NBC Selected roundup that points shoppers to markdowns at Nordstrom Rack, Amazon, Target, Urban Outfitters and other retailers.
The shopping site says its editors independently choose what to cover and recommend, and that it may earn a commission when readers click or buy through its links. The latest list focuses on bags for students, commuters, travel and office use, with brands including Calpak, The North Face, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Herschel, Coach and Vera Bradley.

NBC Selected highlighted the Calpak Terra Laptop Backpack at $106.50, down from $142, a 25% discount. According to the roundup, the bag is built to hold a 14-inch laptop, attach to rolling luggage and carry a hydration reservoir for outdoor use.
Amazon’s Bagsmart Travel and Gym Backpack is listed at $28.02, down from $35.99, for 22% off. NBC Selected says the bag includes space for a laptop or books, a sneaker compartment, room for clothes, a water bottle pocket and water-resistant fabric, and that it fits under most airline seats.

Nordstrom Rack is selling the Kate Spade Large Tilly Quilted Backpack for $149.97, compared with a listed original price of $348, NBC Selected reports. The bag is described as having a floral design, several interior and exterior pockets, leather trim and room for most laptops around 15 inches.
Marc Jacobs’ The Biker Denim Medium Backpack is listed at $175, down from $250, according to the roundup. NBC Selected says it has adjustable straps, two front zip pockets and a main compartment sized for laptops, tablets, pouches and books.
The Herschel Little America Backpack is priced at $90.99, down from $130.99, NBC Selected says. The roundup cites reviewer praise for its roomy feel, adjustable straps, side-entry access, expandable water pockets and padded fleece-lined sleeve for most laptops up to 16 inches.
