Ella Langley’s Tulsa concert cancellation came hours before her Oct. 9 Dandelion Tour date at the BOK Center, after a call threatened the lives of people expected to attend, according to NBC News.

Langley said on Instagram that she had canceled the Friday performance because of a “serious security threat” involving fans, venue staff and her team. She said the decision followed advice from local authorities, the venue and her security team, and apologized to people who had spent time and money planning to attend, NBC News and Rolling Stone reported.

Did Tulsa police find a credible threat at Ella Langley’s concert?

No. Tulsa police said officers conducted an initial sweep with K-9 personnel, the bomb team, patrol officers and BOK Center security, and found nothing dangerous. After the threatening call, officers swept the building and surrounding area again and found no credible threat to the event’s safety, according to the department’s statement reported by NBC News.

Police said they told Langley’s staff that they had found no credible threat, but the performance was canceled anyway. FOX23 reported that police also said they did not advise Langley or the BOK Center to cancel.

The police account does not identify a suspect, weapon or dangerous object. The department said the incident remained under investigation. FOX23 reported that police believed the call was likely a swatting incident, an initial assessment rather than a confirmed conclusion.

What should ticket holders do now?

The BOK Center said refund information would be shared as soon as it is available, according to KFOR and FOX23. No refund process, deadline or replacement date was announced in the available reports.

The show had been scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Kameron Marlowe and Laci Kaye Booth were listed as support acts on the BOK Center’s event page.

Langley said she knew fans may have arranged travel and other plans for the concert, but said she would not put people in harm’s way. The event was canceled despite the two police sweeps finding no credible threat.
