Eric Bieniemy wife shot is the grim update out of Northern Virginia after authorities said the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator’s wife was wounded Sunday night and their 27-year-old son was arrested.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2000 block of Northpark Drive in Ashburn, a Washington, D.C., suburb, where they found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities identified the arrested man as Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27. The sheriff’s office said he was booked on suspicion of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling.
Elijah Zion Bieniemy was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and was being held without bond, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said they did not believe there was any threat to the public.

Eric Bieniemy, 56, is in his second run as Kansas City’s offensive coordinator. He previously led the Chiefs offense from 2018 through 2022, a stretch that included three Super Bowl appearances, according to NBC News.
After that stint, Bieniemy ran the offense for the Washington Commanders and the UCLA Bruins. He later served as running backs coach for the Chicago Bears in 2025 before returning to the Chiefs.
