At least one person died in the Ganderkesee plane crash after a small aircraft dropped onto the roof of a family home in northern Germany on Saturday, police said.
The crash happened in a residential area of Ganderkesee, a town in Lower Saxony. Police in nearby Oldenburg said the plane lost altitude before striking the roof of a single-family house, with the cause still under investigation.
Police said two people were aboard the aircraft. German news agency dpa reported that one person was killed and that rescue crews were searching for the second person.
The people who live in the house were not there when the plane hit, dpa reported. Officials did not immediately give further details about the victims or the missing person.
