Peter Rabbit Organics recall covers 380,000 fruit pouches over plastic risk
PT Organics says select Banana & Strawberry pouches sold at Kroger, Meijer and Target may contain soft plastic strands.

A Peter Rabbit Organics recall is sweeping up more than 380,000 fruit purée pouches nationwide after PT Organics said some packages may shed soft plastic strands into the food.
The company said in a statement last week that it traced the problem to an internal packaging defect. According to PT Organics, thin strands of food-grade plastic from the pouch lining could get into the purée when the pouch is squeezed.
The recall involves Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4 oz. (113 g) pouches. The affected pouches were sold only at Kroger, Meijer and Target stores across the country between March 6 and July 13, 2026, according to the recall information.
The Food and Drug Administration posted the recall announcement Tuesday and told shoppers to check the back of the pouch for the barcode, lane number and best-before date.

The recalled product is the Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4 oz. pouch with barcode 8 15367 01078 0. The FDA said consumers should also look for a lane number shown by the number “4” printed on the rear right-hand side seam.
The recall applies to pouches with one of these best-before dates:

- 03/17/2027
- 03/18/2027
- 05/14/2027
- 05/15/2027
The FDA said the recall applies only to products with the listed product details and codes.
What should shoppers do with recalled pouches?
PT Organics urged customers who have the recalled fruit purée to throw it away immediately or return it to the store where it was bought.
