General Mills has recalled 735,840 Pillsbury frozen bread rolls because the products may contain glass, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall covers two Pillsbury Bread Rolls products: Hard Roll Dough and Kaiser Roll Dough. The FDA notice describes the concern as “potential foreign material (glass).”
General Mills began the recall on June 19, according to the FDA notice. The affected products were distributed across 19 states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
What was recalled
The larger share of the recall involves Pillsbury Bread Rolls Hard Roll Dough. The FDA notice lists 3,080 cases, with 180 rolls in each case. That adds up to 554,400 rolls.
The second product is Pillsbury Bread Rolls Kaiser Roll Dough. The recall covers 1,260 cases, each containing 144 rolls, for a total of 181,440 rolls.
Together, the two recalled products account for 735,840 rolls.
- Pillsbury Bread Rolls Hard Roll Dough: recall number H-1154-2026, better if used by Oct. 12, 2026, cases with 180 units at 2.25 ounces each.
- Pillsbury Bread Rolls Kaiser Roll Dough: recall number H-1155-2026, better if used by Oct. 13, 2026, cases with 144 units at 2.5 ounces each.
Business-style packaging
The recalled rolls appear to be aimed more at food-service operations than at shoppers buying a small package for home, based on how General Mills describes the Kaiser roll product on its website.
The company’s product page says the frozen dough is meant to be thawed, proofed and baked for “back-of-house” preparation, according to General Mills.
The FDA notice does not list retail stores where the recalled cases may have been sold. It also does not include any details about injuries or complaints linked to the products.
General Mills brands
General Mills is the company behind Pillsbury, along with other grocery names including Betty Crocker, Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Nature Valley.
The FDA notice identifies General Mills as the recalling firm and lists the reason for the action as possible glass in the frozen bread rolls.
The affected products are identified by their recall numbers, better-if-used-by dates and case counts. The Hard Roll Dough product carries an Oct. 12, 2026 date, while the Kaiser Roll Dough product carries an Oct. 13, 2026 date, according to the FDA notice.
